Privacy Policy
TrakJaks is a mobile app and website for logging casino wins. This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. It is written to match how the product actually works.
The short version
- You can use TrakJaks without giving us your name or email. You are identified by a generated handle.
- Your location is used to figure out which casino you are at. The exact coordinates are stored only on your own record and are never shown to other users or included in anything public.
- Photos you take are private unless you choose to share a win.
- Photos are analyzed by an AI service to read the game and amount. The provider does not use your photos to train its models.
- Tax-form (W-2G) details you enter are private to you. We never store the image of the form.
- We do not sell personal information. We may license aggregated, de-identified statistics.
What we collect
Account
On first launch the app creates an anonymous account with a random handle (for example neon-dice-29). If you later link a sign-in method (Apple or Google), we receive the identifier that provider gives us and, if you allow it, your email address. Your handle remains the only identifier other users ever see.
Wins you log
The photo you take, the details read from it and confirmed by you (game, type, denomination, bet, amount, date), the casino, any note, and your sharing choice for that win.
Location
When you log a win, the app reads your device location once to find the nearest casino. We store the casino match and the raw coordinates and accuracy on that win. The coordinates are visible only to you (and to us for support and abuse investigation). They are excluded from the community feed, rankings, and every public view. We do not track your location in the background.
Optional features
If you turn on the ledger, we store the session entries you add (date, casino, buy-in, cash-out, notes). If you record a W-2G, we store the figures you confirm (payer, date, gross winnings, withholding, state, reference number). We do not store the form image, and our extraction is instructed and programmatically filtered to discard names, addresses, and taxpayer identification numbers.
Device and usage
Standard technical data needed to run the service: device type and OS version, app version, push-notification token if you enable notifications, request logs, and error reports. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
How we use it
- To run the app: store your wins, show your history, and power the feed and rankings for wins you share.
- To read your photos: the photo is sent to an AI vision service (Anthropic) on our account to extract the game and amount. The output is stored with the win so you can confirm or correct it. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf and, under its commercial terms, does not train on it.
- To keep rankings honest: we compute a numeric fingerprint of each photo to detect the same photo being submitted more than once, and we record whether a win is backed by a photo or a W-2G. Duplicates and unbacked wins are labeled and excluded from rankings.
- To prevent abuse: rate limits, moderation of shared content, and suspension of accounts that violate the terms. Moderation actions are logged.
- To produce aggregate statistics (for example, wins by game type, by property, or by month) that do not identify any user. We may license these aggregates to casino operators and industry partners.
Who can see what
- Other users see only wins you mark as shared: your handle, the amount, game, casino, date, the photo, and an evidence label. They never see your location coordinates, private wins, notes, ledger, or tax records.
- Administrators (the TrakJaks team) can see wins and profiles to moderate content and support you. They cannot open individual ledger or W-2G records; those appear to us only as counts and totals.
- Service providers: Supabase (database, storage, and authentication, hosted in the United States), Anthropic (photo analysis), Netlify (this website), and Apple/Google (app distribution and, if you use them, sign-in and push notifications). Each processes data only to provide its service to us.
- Legal: we disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of users or the service.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it with advertisers.
Your choices and rights
- Sharing: every win is private by default until you share it, and you can make a shared win private again at any time.
- Rankings: turn off "Appear in rankings" in the You tab to be excluded from the leaderboard.
- Location: you can deny location permission; the app will then ask you to choose the casino by hand.
- Notifications: controlled in the app and in your device settings.
- Delete a win: deleting a win removes its photo and extraction data.
- Delete your account: from the You tab (when available in your version) or by emailing privacy@trakjaks.com from the app with your handle. Deletion removes your profile, wins, photos, ledger, and tax records. Aggregated statistics that no longer identify you are retained.
- Access and correction: your data is visible and editable in the app. For a copy of your data, email us.
Residents of California, Nevada, and other states with privacy laws may have additional rights, including the right to know, delete, and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We honor these requests for all users regardless of location. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention
Your data is kept while your account exists. Draft wins that are never confirmed are removed automatically after a short period. Request and error logs are kept for up to 30 days. Backups roll off within 30 days of deletion.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access rules are enforced in the database itself, so a bug in the app cannot expose one user's private data to another. Photos are stored in a private bucket and served through short-lived links. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we will notify you as the law requires.
Age
TrakJaks is for adults who are legally permitted to gamble where they are, and in any case for people 21 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the effective date. Material changes will be announced in the app.
